Joe Garcia

Mr. Garcia has been a Texas licensed polygraph examiner since 2003, a Texas Licensed Police Officer for twenty-five years until his retirement from the Fort Worth Police Department in 2005. Mr. Garcia has been certified by the City of Fort Worth Language Proficiency Examination for Spanish Translation. He has conducted Criminal Specific Examinations, pre-employment screening, internal affairs, employee theft, attorney/client, infidelity/domestic issue tests,and polygraph examinations for employers under the Employee Polygraph Protection Act (EPPA).  Mr. Garcia has conducted polygraph examinations for the City of Grapevine, City of Haltom City, Fort Worth Plice Department, Tarrant County District Attorney, Tarrant County Family Law Center Courts, Wise County District Attorney, City of Seguin Police Department, and the Fort Worth Independent School District Office of Professional Standards.

 

Mr. Garcia has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Science/Spanish from Texas Wesleyan University. He obtined his Basic Peace Officer Certification from the Fort Worth Police Acdemy. Mr. Garcia was trained and Certified by the Joint Polygraph Committee on Sex Offender Testing (JPCOT) in Texas to administer Sex Offender Polygraph Examinations. 

 

Mr. Garcia received his training in polygraph at the Coastal Institute of Forensic Science in Corpus Christi, Texas. He has received training in Prevention of Extraordinary Violence, Executive/Dignitary Protection & Anti-Terrorist Tactics, DOJ/FBI Law Enforcement OfficerTraining, DPS Special Weapons and Tactics Training, FBI Firearms Instructor Training.

 

Mr. Garcia's achievements include:

   Fort Worth Police Department Certificate of Merit

   Patrol Officer of the Year, 1985

   VFW Post 9811 Law Enforcement Award

   Thirty-Five Commendations and Awards, Fort Worth Police Department

   Charter Member of Latino Peace Officers Association, Texas Chapter

   Member Texas Association of Hostage Negotiators, 1986-1994

   Past Sergeant at Arms, Texas Association of Polygraph Examiners (TAPE)

   Board Member, TAPE, 2012-Present
